On Friday 22nd July, the kids from the project “With a slow and careful step, between limits and borders, in the path of disabilities” were guests of the Municipality of Parrano, at the Bagno del Diavolo Thermal Park. The Asociatia Universitur was involved for Romania. The Council for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency Kavadarci for Macedonia. Joqeveritare Thy Udruzenje for Kosovo
“A beautiful meeting – commented the mayor, Valentino Filippetti – which confirms the value and professionalism of the Artemide Association with which we have been collaborating for years”.
The Erasmus Plus international exchange – co-financed by the National Youth Agency – which takes place until Tuesday 26 July at the Casa Laboratorio “Il Cerquosino”, is the second step of a project carried out in May with training for volunteers, operators and youth workers in the social sector on the theme of disability, difficulties and obstacles that are part of life. The project will end in September with the second Youth Exchange, in which young people from Greece, Lithuania and Albania, as well as Italy, will participate.
The exchange, composed of an integrated group, has the objective, starting from the unveiling and recognition of prejudices and stereotypes, to defuse the mechanisms that are lodged in collective imaginations dictated by lack of knowledge. This, through meeting and storytelling, gives young people with disabilities and without the opportunity to show something other than what others have elaborated about them. In fact, relating to disability presupposes an orientation towards experimentation and the willingness to flexibly manage processes and changes in perspective. The methodologies are those of non-formal education, social theater, theater-education, storytelling, collective writing, song-writing practice and active citizenship. “The need to meet also and above all in joy, visit the territory, the institutions, meet the citizens – they say from the Artemide Association – was offered to us by the Municipality of Parrano that hosted us in the thermal pool of Bagno del Diavolo where we spent an extraordinary day”.
